Vitaliia Lykhohub is a multimedia artist, whose present work is focused on creating graphic collages and sculptures. As an artist from Ukraine, her work is driven by a deep interest in the intersection of politics and history. The current events in Ukraine have provided a rich backdrop for her to explore these topics, to constantly reflect on them and to create work that addresses these issues.
This work depicts the war in Ukraine through a series of sculptures, involving anti-tank hedgehogs, condoms, and swarms of army men crawling across the walls. Commenting on both the heart of the conflict and the public’s changing perception, she works with a thin veneer of irony juxtaposed against the horrors of war.
