Dereal_me is a collaborative exhibition created by seven international artists working across a wide variety of media - Painting, VR, Print, Video, Sculpture, Drawing, Sound, Graphic art, Graffiti. These works exist in the space between reality and un-reality, voicing present crises, giving form to personal and ancestral memory, exploring the intersections between the ritual, the digital, and the self.
Dereal_me is not just a title, but a call to action. To unplug oneself from our own preconceived notions of what it means to be “real”, and embrace a new perspective. This simulation is a vessel – one which allows us to realise our most authentic selves, allowing us to shed the facade and create new artistic rituals and self-mythologies which disrupt tradition and transcend societal limitations.
